Passing of BURFC'S Carl Town
BURFC family,
It is with sadness and a heavy heart that I write you today with the news that Carl Town passed away on December 13, 2018 in Boise, ID. Carl was an outstanding rugby player at BU. As #14, he played wing from 1990-1993, achieving New England Rugby Football Union (NERFU) All-Star status. He also represented BU on our 1992 Bahamas tour and 1993 Montreal tour to McGill. In 1993, he was selected to represent the Eastern Collegiate All-Star team and traveled to the Naval Academy for camp and played in the All-American Selection Tournament in Nashville that year. He also played on numerous “BU Legends” sides at the annual New York City 7’s tournament.
More importantly, Carl was a wonderful friend. Generous and funny, Carl always found a way to make people laugh, even at his own expense.
After graduation, Carl moved back to Lake Oswego, Oregon and continued in his family’s business. He later moved to Baker, Oregon where he owned and ran a Best Western Hotel for many year, retiring in 2017. In 2018 he moved to Boise, Idaho and worked in real estate. He is survived by his wife Misty, his mother Marilyn, his three daughters Katelyn, Kenzie, and Kristie, and step-children Aidan, Ailah, Anouh, Aeris, and Anava.
We will miss you my friend.
Sincerely,
Michael “MJ” Leddy CAS92/MED97
